I am very intrigued by the neck/body attachment Stefan Sobell uses
(beautiful guitars BTW), anybody knows what kind of joint it is, he doesn't
seem to use any bolts. The neck block seems very thin, does he use some
kind of wedge to secure the neck to the neck block, Romanillos-style?laurent38728.5358217593

Laurent,

All of the Sobell's I have examined have a more substantial neck block including a fingerboard extension support. I think he does a glued neck join - either mortice or dovetail. E-mail him via his web site (where the pics came from). Stefan is very friendly and approachable.

That looks like a "keyed" joint. If I see it right, there are two wedges locking the joint together. You can see the end grain on the top of the wedges. Cool!
